摘要: Neodymium heptamolybdate crystals grown from silica gels [1] are characterized em ploying energy dispersine X-ray analysis, and electron diffraction, infra-red spectroscopy, optical microscopy scanning techniques the results obtained presented. The established to have composition Nd2Mo7O2427H2O. of diffraction studies indicate material be thermally unstable. growing within gel medium exhibit varied morphologies including square octagonal platelets, cuboids, multifaceted crystals, coalesced aggregated forms spherulites. spherulitic morphology is shown arise due crystallites adhering in a spherical envelope not as result crystal fibres radiating out centrally located common nucleus. building blocks crust at reactant interface discussed.
