摘要: This study estimates the relative importance to child health (indicated by weight and height for age) of economic development level [gross domestic product (GDP) converted international dollars using purchasing power parity (PPP) rates: GDP-PPP], household wealth maternal education examines modifying influence national contexts on these estimates. It uses information collected from mothers aged 15-49-years participating in Demographic Health Surveys (DHS) conducted 42 developing countries. In multilevel regression models, three variables exhibited strong independent associations with health: GDP-PPP accounted largest amount unique variation, followed wealth. There was also substantial overlap (shared variance) between other two variables. The regressions cross-national variation both strength form association. Although higher levels were associated disproportionately greater returns health, pattern erratic: many countries there diminishing at We conclude that are inextricable links among different strategies improving policy planners, associating benefits strategies, must take into account moderating impact context.
