摘要: Abstract Objective The use of benzodiazepines (BDZs) represents a critical issue since long-term treatment may lead to dependence. This study aimed at evaluating socio-demographic and clinical characteristics BZD users who followed detoxification program tertiary care center. Method Two hundred-five inpatients were evaluated. Socio-demographic (e.g., gender, age, education) information used, dose, reason prescription) was collected. BZDs dose standardized as diazepam equivalents compared via the Defined Daily Dose (DDD). Chi-square, Fisher test, ANOVA Bonferroni analyses performed. Results Females more frequently BDZ than males. Hypnotic prescribed for problems different from sleep disturbances. Lorazepam, alprazolam, lormetazepam most drugs. Lorazepam used by males, consumed long period, in pills, anxiety. Lormetazepam females with high school education, having psychiatric disorder, taken drops insomnia. had highest DDD. Conclusion A specific profile user seems exist presents according benzodiazepine into account.
