摘要: Eclampsia refers to a coma or seizure activity in pregnant woman with no prior history of such activity. This paper presents mix historical and epidemiological evidence consistent the hypothesis that chronic lead exposure is predisposing factor for eclampsia. The based on research conducted by British physicians around 1900 showing geographic variation eclampsia across England Wales was correlated levels local drinking water supplies. A formal analysis data set English Welsh counties observed 1883 corroborates presented observers. In particular, statistical results show death rate from high-water-lead exceeded low-water-lead 2.34 (95% CI: 1.54-3.14).
