摘要: Several theories specifying the causes of jealousy have been put forth in past few decades. Firm support for any proposed theory, however, has limited by difficulties inherent inducing and examining mediating mechanisms real time. In a theory centering on threats to self-system, 2 experiments are presented that address these limitations argue model based context-induced variability self-evaluation. Experiment 1 presents method evoking through use highly orchestrated social encounters demonstrates threatened self-esteem functions as principal mediator jealousy. addition replicating findings, provides direct evidence cause aggression.
