"The Walls Were Closing in, and We Were Trapped": A Qualitative Analysis of Street Youth Suicide

摘要: Semistructured interviews focusing on suicide were conducted with 80 street youth in agencies and the streets of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Participants described their understandings phenomenon among meanings held for them. Qualitative analysis revealed themes worthlessness, loneliness, hopelessness, most centrally feeling being "trapped" as forming construct by participants. These idioms distress situated within context a life that included social stigma drug abuse.
