摘要: Hyperbolic materials are of particular interest for the next generation photonic and optoelectronic devices. Since artificial metamaterials intrinsically limited by size their nanostructured components, there has been a hunt natural hyperbolic in last few years. In first-principles work based on density-functional theory many-body perturbation theory, we investigate fundamental dielectric response MoTe2 monolayer, bilayer, bulk form, find that it is type-II material with low losses between 3 6 eV. Going from monolayer to bulk, energy window dispersion blue-shifted tenths an We show excitonic effects optical anisotropy play major role behavior MoTe2. Our results confirm potential layered as media opto-electronics, photonics, nano-imaging applications.
