摘要: To understand if either of two controversial models for the retardation by RAFT agents is applicable, styrene polymerization using dithiobenzoate as agent carried out in both bulk and miniemulsion systems with same rates radical generation concentrations. Miniemulsion average diameters droplets ≈107 nm far faster than bulk, obtained rate agrees well calculated results assuming a bimolecular termination between propagating intermediate radical, generated addition reaction to agent, which shows that major reason agent.
