摘要: Abstract Purpose This study was designed to evaluate the effects of botulinum toxin type-A (BoNTA) injection rectus femoris (RF) muscle on electromyographic activity knee flexor and extensor hip kinematics during gait in patients with hemiparesis exhibiting a stiff-knee gait. Method Two analyses were performed fourteen patients: before four weeks after BoNTA injection. Spatiotemporal, kinematic parameters quantified for paretic limb. Results treatment improved velocity, stride length cadence an increase angular velocity at toe-off maximal flexion swing phase. Amplitude activation time RF co-activation duration between biceps significantly decreased. The instantaneous mean frequency predominantly lower pre-swing Conclusions results clearly show that modified EMG amplitude injected but not synergist antagonist muscles. reduction could be related increased slow fibers. analysis signals appears relevant method evaluation muscle.
