摘要: Misfolding of the cellular prion protein, PrPC, into amyloidogenic isoform, PrPSc, which forms infectious protein aggregates, so-called prions, is a key pathogenic event in diseases. No pathogens other than prions have been identified to induce misfolding PrPC PrPSc and propagate infected cells. Here, we found that infection with neurotropic influenza A virus strain (IAV/WSN) caused generated mouse neuroblastoma cells through hit-and-run mechanism. The structural biochemical characteristics IAV/WSN-induced were different from those RML 22L laboratory prions-evoked pathogenicity also suggesting IAV/WSN-specific formation prions. Our current results may open new avenue for role viral
