摘要: This paper is part of an extensive survey neutron scattering from nuclei in the Os-Pt transition region. We present differential cross sections {sup 192}Os measured at 1.60, 2.52, and 3.94 MeV, as well total between 250 keV 4.2 MeV. These data are analyzed via coupled-channels models to extract nuclear structure information; found be quite sensitive relative signs magnitudes reduced matrix elements that couple channels. find excitation amplitudes our good agreement with results Coulomb experiments, contrast earlier findings for 194}Pt. Neutron best described by depict a {gamma}-soft vibrator; they cannot {gamma}-rigid models. The energy dependence strength real potential consistent only mean-scattering fields whose dependencies reflect dispersion relations which connect imaginary parts potential.
