摘要: Porcine ACTH (200 U/mg) lowers serum calcium levels and raises citrate significantly in the fasting rabbit within 2 hr after intramuscular injection of 16 μg/kg material. A polypeptide comprising N-terminal 24 amino acid residue beta-corticotropin also has this property. Synthetic lysine vasopressin (270 to a lesser extent but causes depression levels. Crude extracts porcine posterior pituitary gland with activity elevate Further, they depress greater than synthetic vasopressin. Fractionation material, first on DEAE-cellulose column then carboxy methyl cellulose column, yielded fraction 131 U/mg activity, which elevated depressed rabbit. This material was not homogeneous as determined by acrylamide gel electrophoresis. (Endocrinology 77: 108, 1965)
