摘要: The phase morphology developed in immiscible polypropylene (PP)/polycyclohexylmethacrylate (PCHMA) blends has been studied using an situ reactively generated polystyrene-graft-polypropylene compatibilizer from maleic anhydride grafted (MA-g-PP) and amine end-capped polystyrene (PS-NH2) reactive precursors during melt-blending. imidation reaction responsible for the formation of is similar to occurring polyamide/MA-PP (MA-EPR or MA-EPDM) which are industrially important. In present blend PP/PCHMA/(PP-MA-PS-NH2), no undesired occurs between groups backbone PCHMA chain, as usually case with polyamide homopolymer. This type reaction, although considered non significant, consequences on development it affects viscosity matrix when chain scission takes place. PP/PCHMA covering whole range compositions were prepared. composition window at exhibit a droplet-in-matrix that where two phases co-continuous determined selective extraction combination scanning electron microscopy. generation PP-g-PS substantially changed state developed. having morphology, particle sizes significantly reduced (by factor more than 10). Two types MA-g-PP copolymers differing content (1 8 wt%) have separately employed same grade PS-NH2. Emphasis was put detailed investigation behaviour structural stability exhibiting generated. Significant differences found relation MA-PP precursor.
