摘要: Among the new developments in use of noble metals, organic-inorganic systems formed by Self Assembled Molecular (SAM) layering on metal surfaces represent a main topic. In this chapter we discuss complementary surface science techniques Applied to these sysems. Our aim is give an overview our recent case studies organic molecular layers interacting with surfaces. Functionalized assembled films are important many application fields, ranging from sensors and photovoltaic cells nanostructured devices. microelectronics adsorbed molecules subject intensive investigation, due fundamental interest interfacial coordination chemistry its potential applications. Physical details morphology, together grain size, orientation film concentration defects, play crucial role device performances, since they determine carrier injection properties.
