摘要: OBJECTIVE--To determine the prevalence of HIV infection in travellers attending Hospital for Tropical Diseases, London, and to assess correlates behavioural risk factors infection. DESIGN--All patients tested during a 28-month period were included. Information was obtained from clinical records standardised serological request forms. SETTING--Hospital UK. SUBJECTS--298 (in-patient out-patient) tested. RESULTS--258 those exclusively heterosexual not injecting drug users. 5.4% these HIV-1 antibody positive. Rates originating UK outside 1.8% 33.2% respectively. Most non-UK citizens symptomatic when tested; generally as part routine screening, therefore two groups are comparable. behaviour high both groups. CONCLUSION--The rate 5.4%. Amongst 1.8%. All should be made aware potential acquiring through sexual contact.
