摘要: Cap-binding proteins of the eIF4E family are generally involved in mediating ribosome recruitment to capped mRNA via an interaction with initiation factor eIF4G. However, Schizosaccharomyces pombe has two isoforms, one which (eIF4E2, encoded by tif452) a relatively low affinity for We show that tif452 is required specific stress responses. An S. pombe, tif452Δ mutant manifests slow growth under conditions nutrient, temperature and salt stress. eIF4E2 shows distinct subcellular distribution eIF4E1, cap-binding mainstream translation.
