摘要: We discuss the database controversy, which deals with evaluation of evidential value a unique match in search. conclude that principle, case against suspect is stronger than so-called “cold” case, but contrary to popular idea, this not because likelihood ratio increases when compared cold posterior odds are higher case. Keywords: DNA database; unique hit; prior odds; posterior odds; weight evidence; database controversy; likelihood ratio; hypothesis testing
