摘要: Abstract The release of farm-reared animals for shooting causes frequent conflicts between hunters and conservationists, since, while this management practice is economically important in some game areas, it carries several risks biodiversity conservation (e.g. the introduction new pathogens or alien species and/or hybrids). However, these have received little attention literature. In particular, social-psychological factors, which are very driving conflicts, been often ignored study releases. Our main goal was to examine attitudes beliefs managers towards red-legged partridges small-game estates within central Spain, where more than 3 million released annually. Data were collected through face interviews with 45 managers. More 70% interviewed expressed negative views releases, included arguments about their detrimental effect on natural partridge populations, low effectiveness, consideration as artificial hunting. Very predominated among who had never (mostly those non-commercial estates), frequently by occasionally. contrast, positive mostly given annually, used generally referred economic benefits Some at same time both releases (i.e. ambivalent position). These findings suggest that there exists a relative polarisation managers, position critical close conservationists. results also managers’ decision-making regarding likely influenced variety well socioeconomic setting interest outcome behaviour). This highlights different aspects, including social psychological economic, essential understanding resolving such caused
