摘要: Protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTPs), the enzymes that dephosphorylate tyrosyl phosphoproteins, were initially believed to be few in number and serve a ‘housekeeping’ role signal transduction. Recent work indicates this is totally incorrect. Instead, PTPs comprise large superfamily whose members play critical roles wide variety of cellular processes. Moreover, exhibit exquisite substrate specificity vivo. evidence has led us propose PTP family achieve selectivity through different combinations specific targeting strategies intrinsic catalytic domain specificity.
