摘要: Passiflora alata Curtis, Passifloraceae, is a liana popularly known in Brazil as ‘maracuja-doce’ that has been used for treating different illnesses. Its leaves are described the Brazilian Pharmacopoeia, but gastroprotective activity never investigated. In present study freeze-dried crude 60% ethanol–water extract of P. aerial parts was prepared. Total flavonoid content, expressed vitexin, 0.67% ± 0.01. The hemolytic 32 units alata, using Saponin (Merck®) reference. presented EC50 1061.2 8.5 µg/ml 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryhydrazyl assay and 1076 85 µmol Trolox/g Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity assay. its solvent fractions alatananopreparation were investigated activity. test samples exhibited on HCl/ethanol induced gastric mucosal lesions rats. at doses 100, 200 400 mg/kg, necrotizing agent 150 mmol/l, inhibited 100% ulcer formation (compared to negative control), while lansoprazole (30 mg/kg) 77%. When tested against more concentrated (300 mmol/l), 100 mg/kg reduced 57% (n-hexane), 34% (ethyl acetate) 72% (aqueous fraction) formation. this assay, 47%. encapsulated, 55%, 94% 90% dosages 25, 50 mg/kg. These results suggest potential use herbal medicine.
