摘要: Abstract In a study of the phlebotomine sandflies (Diptera: Psychodidae) in forest reserve Recife, Pernambuco state, north–eastern Brazil, landing on human bait between 1.00 and 1.42 h after sunset were collected weekly for 2 years. Although 10,287 10 Lutzomyia species collected, almost all (96.5%) caught Lu. umbratilis. This several others are potential vectors some Leishmania parasites that cause disease. The recorded rate umbratilis peaked, at high level 333.3 flies/person-hour, during collections made May 2003.The relative rarity males probably indicates these do not lek their bloodmeal sources. It is likely sizes local populations very anthrophilic, such as flaviscutellata, much larger than indicated by bait.
