Development of BMI values of German children and their healthcare costs

摘要: The aim of this study is to assess the association between different patterns Body Mass Index (BMI) development from birth on and later healthcare utilisation costs in children aged about 10 years based two cohort studies: GINIplus (3287 respondents) LISAplus (1762 respondents). Direct were estimated using information given by parents 10-year follow-up. To meet aim, we (i) estimate BMI-standard deviation score (BMIZ) trajectories latent growth mixture models (ii) examine correlation these services resulting at We identified three BMI-trajectories: a normative BMIZ class (BMI almost as WHO standards), rapid up age 2 (with higher BMI first life proposed standards) persistent 5 five standards). Annual total direct medical use are be average €368 per child. These doubled, i.e. €722 child, group with most pronounced (persistent class).
