摘要: This nation - and in fact the world is currently facing a crisis form of growing antibacterial drug resistance. In 60 or so years since discovery penicillin, physicians pharmaceutical companies have been constantly challenged to stay step ahead bacteria that adapt drugs used control them. These magic bullets were at one time expected eliminate concern over infectious disease relied upon heavily. But their effectiveness has steadily waning recent as, more more, strains emerge are resistant multiple and, some cases, become nearly "panresistant." Nosocomial infections with these once confined hospitals but new community-acquired an ominous portent. Meanwhile, perhaps equally as distressing, many discontinuing efforts develop antimicrobial for variety reasons few agents pipeline. The selective pressure triggering bacterial mutations complex, they can be shared by healthcare workers, hospitals, long-term care facilities, agriculture industry, even consumers themselves. this paper, topics discussed, turn, paper concludes apologia change should stakeholders.
