摘要: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a global health concern, and the recent literature reports that single mild TBI can result in chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). It has been suggested CTE may lead to death by suicide, raising important prevention, treatment, policy implications. Thus, we conducted systematic review of medical answer key question: What existing evidence support relationship between suicide? Systematic searches suicide yielded 85 unique abstracts. Seven articles were identified for full text review. Only two case series met inclusion criteria included autopsies from 17 cases, 5 whom died suicide. Neither studies used blinding, control or data collection regarding exposure and/or medical/neuropsychiatric history. The revealed divergent opinions neuropathological elements heterogeneity clinical manifestations. Overall quality was rated as very low using Grading Recommendations Assessment, Development Evaluation Working Group (GRADE) criteria.
