摘要: Hevein is an N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (GlcNAc) specific lectin that has been hypothesized to participate in the IgE-mediated allergic reactions patients with latex allergy. In this work we assessed specificity and biological effect of hevein purified from rubber on human leukocytes, using epifluorescence microscopy flow cytometry. Purified granulocytes were stimulated vitro hevein, production oxidative radicals was measured by reduction nitroblue tetrazolium formazan. Histochemical staining cytometry showed recognizes specifically monocytes (CD14+) neutrophils (CD16+), but not lymphoid cells. induced response granulocytes; 1.3-1.5-fold higher than observed WGA (wheat germ agglutinin), or other lectins different sugar specificity. The cellular recognition inhibited GlcNAc its oligomers; as well glycoproteins containing tri-and tetra-antennary N-glycosydically linked glycans. Our findings suggest are main target for hevein; induces radicals, which seem play important role tissue damage during
