摘要: A source for polarized Li+, Li++, Cs+, Cs++, and Cs+++ ions is described. The are produced by electron bombardment of Li0 or Cs0 atoms. ion currents obtained 3.3×10−8 1.3×10−9 6.0×10−8 Cs+++, 1.4×10−7 6.6×10−7 Cs+. background current these negligible. polarization the was not measured, but a discussion presented. This leads to conclusion that nuclear vector 7Li+ about 25% electronic 7Li++ 9.4%. Possible applications Li++ Cs++ beams discussed. An interesting result from this work average cross section incident electrons 200 325 eV energy process e−+Li0 → Li+++3e−, which has value 3.5×10−18 cm2.
