摘要: The objective of this study was to determine whether differences in mRNA levels key pituitary genes that regulate GH production, development, and growth were present and/or associated with divergent body composition phenotypes observed between sheep from genetically lean fat selection lines. Real-time PCR transcription profiles for specific factor 1, prophet pit1, GH, receptor, secretagogue GHRH leptin somatostatin receptors 1 2 determined tissue. There a difference the amount both (P < 0.001) receptor lines (5 females 5 males per line; 20 wk age); line had greater abundance than line, irrespective which endogenous control gene used. results obtained equivocal but suggestive; there using beta-2-microglobulin as not when hypoxanthine phosphoribosyltransferase glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase No or concentration somatotropes animals appears be increased possibly mRNA. This suggests secretion may due afferent signals, such ghrelin GHRH, arising hypothalamus, result differential sensitivity these hormones.
