摘要: Background:The vascular component of the migrainespecificphysiologicprofileandtheobservedadversecardiovascular risk profile in migraineurs suggest an association between migraine and cardiovascular disease (CVD).Inwomen, migrainehasbeenassociatedwithincreased CVD, including coronary events. Compatible data men are lacking. Methods:Prospective cohort study 20084 aged 40to84yearsparticipatinginthePhysicians’HealthStudy. In yearly questionnaires, were asked for informationonmigraine, riskfactors, andtheoccurrenceofstudy end points. We classified as having if they indicated during first 5 years, after which timefollow-upbegan.Informationonaurawasnotavailable. All free CVD at start followup. During a mean 15.7 we followed up participants occurrence major event (nonfatal ischemic stroke, nonfatal myocardial infarction, or death from CVD). also evaluated individual points, revascularization, angina. Results: A total 1449 (7.2%) reported migraine, follow-up, 2236 events occurred. Compared with nonmigraineurs, who had multivariable-adjusted hazard ratios (95% confidence intervals) 1.24 (1.06-1.46; P=.008) 1.12 (0.84-1.50; P=.43) 1.42 (1.15-1.77;P.001) 1.05 (0.89-1.24; P=.54) revascularization,1.15(0.99-1.33;P=.068)forangina,and1.07 (0.80-1.43; P=.65) death. Conclusion: this large prospective apparently healthy men, was associated increased driven by infarction. Arch Intern Med. 2007;167:795-801
