Previous magnetotelluric (MT) studies the high-temperature Coso geothermal system in California identified a subvertical feature lowresistivity (2-5Ohmm) and appreciable lateral extent (g1 km) producing zone East Flank field. However, these models could not reproduce gross 3-D effects recorded data. We perform full-tensor inversion retrieve resistivity model that out-performs previous 2-D off-diagonal terms its fit to complete MT data set as well degree modelling bias. Inclusion secondary Zxx Zyy components leads robust east-dip (60°) previously conductive reservoir feature, which correlates strongly with recently mapped surface faults, downhole temperatures, seismic reflection data, local microseismicity. synthetic forward test best-fit dip this conductor using response at nearby station. interpret dipping fractured fluidized compartment, is structurally controlled an unmapped blind fault zone.
