摘要: We report on a recent magnetotelluric (MT) survey across the Manda Hararo magmatic segment (MHMS) within Tendaho graben in Afar Depression northeastern Ethiopia. Twenty-two broadband MT sites with ∼1 km station spacing were deployed along profile recorded data covering period range from 0.003 s to 1000 s. A two-dimensional (2-D) resistivity model reveals an upper crustal fracture zone (fault) and partial melt of 1–10Ωm at depth >1 km. The has maximum horizontal width 15 extends Stratoid Series basalts. estimate fraction about 13% based geochemical borehole data, bulk 2-D inversion model. interpreted may have been formed by either magma intrusion mantle sources or large volume continental crust that fluxed small amount heat. Within MHMS graben, is plausible explanation for conductor. inferred presence conductive fault hydrothermal fluid shallow heat sourcing reservoir also makes promising prospect development conventional geothermal energy.
