摘要: This is a qualitative study which aimed to understanding the meaning of anti-smoking groups developed in unit Family Health Care city Montes Claros, Minas Gerais State. The action-research was used as theoretical and methodological reference. subjects were smokers who experienced group sessions on health education. data collection tools were: non-participant observation, participant semi-structured interviews. collected submitted technique discourse analysis with identifi cation two categories: smoking support gr oups perception part group. Smokers expressed ideas feelings well representation cigarette. showed relevance during process quitting smoking, need better professional training service structure order face problem. also way promote treatment public system its impact population had this benefi t, being parameter encouragement for other scenarios.
