摘要: In the built-up structure consisting of a stiff beam and flexible plate, Grice showed that plate behaves as an energy absorber in narrow frequency bands(called blocking effect). This paper deals with such beam-plate coupled structures, where is excited path. It found dissipation can occur relatively broad bands, if different stiffnesses are used rectangular plate. was experimentally verified by Heckl energies terms one-third octave band averages transferred to plate(or dissipated plate) increase for increased damping. Paper, however, shows absorption suddenly reduces at certain bands damping effect upon maximum.
