摘要: The debate over global climate change came to movie theatres in the United States with 2006 release of An Inconvenient Truth, a documentary presentation evidence that human-produced greenhouse gases are contributing such change. film starred Al Gore, who served as vice president from 1993 2001 and ran unsuccessfully for presidency 2000 nominee Democratic Party. Truth was commercial critical success, earning $23 million winning an Academy Award Best Documentary (Internet Movie Database 2007). In broader terms, not only generated news media coverage helped fuel public debate; it also appeared resonate opinion. Polls showed majorities believed occurring, human activity it, serious problem, government should act address (see, example, Bowman 2007; Polling Report 2007a). Nevertheless, failed generate policy shifts on part US government. Indeed efforts at federal level have met little success past two decades.
