The Malmö Food Study: the reproducibility of a novel diet history method and an extensive food frequency questionnaire.

摘要: Objective: To assess the reproducibility of two diet assessment methods, an extensive quantitative food frequency questionnaire (method A) and a novel shorter with 14 day record B). Design: A randomized prospective cohort study. Setting: General community. Subjects: 241 residents town Malmo, aged between 50-69 years, 126 men 115 women who completed methods one year apart. Methods: Both were designed to cover whole portion sizes estimated using booklet 120 photographs; method comprised 250 items B combined two-week measuring lunch dinner meals 130 item for average consumption foods, snacks beverages during past year; Results: The percent difference energy intake apart 10.7% 0.2% B, corresponding values 13.7% 1.1%. Method showed good agreement measurements energy-providing nutrients, micronutrients major groups, i.e. meat products, edible fats, milk, fish, fruits vegetables correlation coefficients 0.70-0.90 women. fat was about 10%. Average energy-adjusted Pearson's order 0.50-0.80 most nutrients including fatty acids. ratio polyunsaturated saturated acids 0.70 0.80 women; Conclusion: modified history combining shows reproducibiiity.
