摘要: Collagen type I displays a typical banding periodicity of 67 nm when visualized by atomic force or transmission electron microscopy imaging. We have investigated collagen fibers extracted from rat tail tendons using microscopy, under different ionic and pH conditions. The majority the reproduce wavy structure with spacing height difference between peak grooves at least 5 nm. However, we were also able to individuate two other patterns 23 +/- 2 210 15 periodicities. small pattern showed differences about nm, whereas large seems be superposition showing 20 Furthermore, could show that values 3 below fibril gets dissolved high concentrations NaCl CaCl2 prevent this effect.
