摘要: Nondigestible oligosaccharides (NDOs) have been found to stimulate absorption of several minerals and improve mineralization bone. Hence, these substances are potential ingredients for "functional foods." In addition a nutritional effect, functional foods physiologic psychological benefits that result in improved health or reduced risk chronic disease. Most the scientific evidence effects NDOs is based on animal experiments which increased availability calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron. This stimulatory effect some assumed be mainly due their prebiotic character. A defined as substrate food ingredient nondigestible host but fermented selectively by intestinal microflora. Thus, it stimulates growth activity bacteria with beneficial consequences host's health. Recently, findings were confirmed human studies NDOs. The seem specific type carbohydrate likely related rate fermentation flora appear depend ingested dose. Contradictory results prebiotics literature may experimental design because depends dose, time administration, content calcium diet, part skeleton investigated, age subjects studied.
