摘要: Abstract A biological one-dimensional water column model for the simulation of annual cycles phytoplankton dynamics and a physical transport are coupled into three-dimensional primary production to estimate North Sea its regional differences. The simulations driven with actual forcing, taking account monthly river loads from 14 rivers, daily velocities diffusivities baroclinic model, solar radiation calculated every 30 min. high variability forcing generates considerable in dynamics. simulated chlorophyll, phosphate net validated available data different years sense that single year can be compared measured variability. Such comparisons show reproduces general features terms chlorophyll triggering nutrient phosphate. This establishes confidence area. 1986 yields an integrated ranging between 92 345 g C m−2 yr−1 regions. agrees quite well quantitative knowledge observed yearly production, except British coast, where is overestimated due lacking inorganic suspended matter attenuation. mean 145 yr−1.
