Second-generation tetracyclines, a dermatologic overview: clinical uses and pharmacology.

摘要: Tetracycline and its derivatives are frequently used in the treatment of acne, soft tissue bacterial infections, Lyme disease (borreliosis), chlamydial-infections, respiratory tract infections. Several pharmacologic microbiological properties these antibiotics make them particularly suitable for such uses. First-generation tetracyclines have long been use; however, second-generation minocycline, doxycycline hyclate, monohydrate also become widely prescribed, can offer advantages to dermatologist over tetracycline. This paper reviews important characteristics three commonly tetracyclines, their clinical applications dermatology.
