摘要: This paper investigates the cracking and stress–strain behavior, especially local strain concentration near flaw tips, of rock-like material containing two flaws. A series uniaxial compression tests were carried out on specimens flaws, with gauges mounted tips to measure under compressive loading. Four different types cracks (wing cracks, anti-wing coplanar shear oblique cracks) seven patterns crack coalescences (T1 T2; S1 S2; TS1, TS2 TS3) are observed in experiments. The type coalescence is related geometry In general, varies from S-mode TS-mode then T-mode increase rock bridge ligament angle. curves flaws closely development process. measurements indicate that tensile below or above pre-existing tip causes wing while crack. measured shows a jump at initiation wing- reflecting instant opening propagating through gauge. During propagation gradually increases few jumps, implying deformation occurs stable manner. initiate followed by large abrupt quickly propagate an unstable manner resulting failure specimens.
