摘要: This study compares the motivations for using violence and context in which occurs among male female domestic perpetrators. One hundred twenty-five participants batterer intervention counseling Los Angeles County, California, were surveyed. The sample was approximately half female. Males females found to differ their relationships. Females reported response prior abuse, citing revenge retaliation as a primary motivation. Because treatment approaches are commonly derived from power control model, indicates that is used gain control, may not be appropriate women, who appear more motivated by desire maintain personal liberties relationship where they have been victimized. Treatment must walk fine line between addressing victimization issues holding women accountable decisions use violence.
