摘要: Hospital length of stay (LOS) has declined significantly at Mt. Sinai with the advent diagnosis-related groups (DRGs). Patients colorectal cancer who were operated on before and after implementation DRG compared to determine whether shorter LOS reflected changes in patient population or way patients being treated. Both preoperative postoperative for patients. The decreased could not be attributed a severity disease because presented more advanced tumors. had less operative blood loss; shorter, extensive procedures; fewer transfusion; specimen lengths; margins resection; complications than pre-DRG Other measures (i.e., admission hematocrit, tumor differentiation, size) mix age sex) did change. These results suggest that use DRGs, surgeons may have modified certain aspects treatment an attempt shorten LOS.
