Secure Remote Backup Protection of Transmission Lines Using Synchrophasors

摘要: We consider the problem of detecting a fault on transmission line from residual vector synchrophasor state estimator (SynSE). For under fault, we identify six operating modes depending upon location phasor measurement units (PMUs). show that in five modes, is seen while one mode, will not reflect vector. The analysis leads us to propose remote backup protection scheme for supervised zone-3 operation distance relays. In case inadequate PMU penetration system, implementation SynSE can even be restricted small subsystem critical lines.
