摘要: Modal birefringence and its sensitivity to temperature hydrostatic pressure were measured versus wavelength in three elliptical-core fibers one fiber with stress-induced birefringence. We carried out the measurements spectral range from 633 843 nm by using interferometric methods. In elliptical cores all parameters showed high chromatic dependence, whereas this dependence was weak. modeled dispersion characteristics of two modified perturbation approach first proposed Kumar. The modification consists introducing into expression for normalized propagation constants an additional term that contains information about results modeling show are associated primarily variations stress induced these parameters. agreement between calculated values worst case equal 20% modal 50% sensitivity.
