摘要: BACKGROUND: Radiotherapy with its advantage of organ preservation has been used to treat laryngeal cancer (LC) for several decades. However, the impact radiation on overall survival (OS) in a large population-based study not evaluated date. METHODS: The authors analyzed all patients who had localized and/or regional glottic and supraglottic Surveillance, Epidemiology, End Results Program by comparing treatment trends OS periods 1988 1993, 1994 1999, 2000 2006. Kaplan-Meier logistic regression analyses were conducted evaluate influence patient demographics received. RESULTS: Among 13,808 LC, radiotherapy use increased over 3 (LGC) (94%, 97%, 98% during 1988-1993, 1994-1999, 2000-2006, respectively; P < .001); (RGC) (53%, 66%, 75%, .001), (LSGC) (61%, 83%, 94%, respectively), (RSGC) (43%, 55%, 78%, .001). No significant decrease 5-year was observed (LGC: 73%, 76%, RGC: 57%, 51%, 56%, LSGC: 33%, 35%, 39%, RSGC: 36%, 43%, respectively). Blacks significantly less likely receive than whites (odds ratio: LGC, 0.42; RGC, 0.76; RSGC, 0.68; .05). Those lowest tertile median household income, compared highest tertile, received frequently 0.57; .001). CONCLUSIONS: The current results indicated that speech no adverse LC. Black race low income status significant, inverse relations receipt radiotherapy. Cancer 2012;. © 2011 American Society.
