Analysis of Functionalities of Commercial Websites Used for Procurement: Implications on Design and Operations

摘要: This research analyzes the functionalities of commercial websites used for electronic procurement and links them with benefits as perceived by users relevant operations. Findings from a Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) on data collected 88 corporate buyers working in wide range industries using World Wide Web to support process show that adding advanced informational can reduce their efficiency, which suggest are more often buyers' search costs than processing costs. Possible explanations implications such findings design business-to-business transactions operations both vendors discussed.
