摘要: In August 2000, a continuous flow release was initiated below diversion dam in the Bridge River, British Columbia, to rewater 4 km of stream bed that had been without for 37 years. Within month after start flows, periphyton and invertebrate populations were present previously dry reach. Juvenile salmonids common downstream rewetted reach, but only few moved upstream new habitats restoration. However, adult salmon quickly colonized area spawned 1–8 months onset flow. Age-0 salmonid abundance high 1 year later appeared be largely due successful spawning reach rather than migration juveniles. We conclude full colonization will take more as consequence migratory patterns species river, monitoring programs habitat restoration should cognizant lags response target because their life histories.
