摘要: Abstract The running-in behaviour of a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating deposited on M42 tool steel substrate has been investigated ball-on-disk wear rig in dry air. During sliding, classical curve with transition rate from high initial to low sliding was observed. Variations friction coefficient distance were not related this rate. A transfer film rapidly developed the uncoated ball surface and negligible. According Talysurf measurements optical observations, width track disk specimen kept almost invariant increase after very stages. Major change cross-section profiles deepening track. simulation model for variation volume as function is presented based assumption that there are two different dominant regimes respectively at contact pressures above below some critical pressure, p c . assessed using Hertzian elastic analysis foundation analyse between rubbing surfaces. It shown feature results mainly presence pressures. Linear expected if Archard's specific assumed be same any pressure. Reasonably good agreement simulated experimental observations obtained. can applied simulating processes under conditions.
