摘要: As the number of females served by juvenile justice system in United States continues to grow, both absolute terms and relative males, it is important understand general specific characteristics delinquent girls boys regarding their patterns offending risk variables. Using systematic random sampling, 20% all admittees state-run detention centers state Connecticut, USA, were included a chart review study, forming sample (n = 371, 30.2% girls, age range 11-19 years; mean 14.45, sd 1.05) that was analyzed for gender differences with regard offenses. These examined potential associations indicators are routinely collected at admission detention. Findings indicate complex set between offense risk, highlighting importance not only gender, but also racial/ethnic differences, whose modulating effects appear be understanding these associations. Specifically, characterized dimensions, some which align those more gender-specific. For example, as group, demonstrated higher levels substance abuse, suicide ideation, victimization, mental-health variability, scores characteristic from minority backgrounds.
