摘要: A double-blind placebo-controlled study of the concurrent administration albendazole and praziquantel was conducted in >1500 children with high prevalences geohelminths schistosomiasis. The sites were China Philippines, including 2 strains Schistosoma japonicum, different regions Kenya, 1 each endemic mansoni or haematobium. Neither medication affected cure rate other. There no difference between side effect from double placebo. Praziquantel-treated had more nausea, abdominal pain, headache but these effects statistically common schistosomiasis, suggesting a strong influence dying parasites. subjects followed for 6 months changes infection status, growth parameters, hemoglobin, schistosomiasis morbidity. In all 4 sites, significant 6-month increase serum hemoglobin observed who received praziquantel, strongly supporting population-based mass treatment.
