摘要: The relationship between retinula and eccentric cells in the lateral eye of Limulus polyphemus was studied using a double electrode technique which permitted simultaneous recording light-initiated responses two sense labeling for subsequent histological examination identification. following results were obtained: (a) slow with without superimposed spike potentials recorded from (only one cell yielded potentials); (b) different within same ommatidium always synchronous; (c) complete absence observed experiments no could be found ommatidia containing labeled cells; (d) greatest differences characteristics simultaneously occurred those retinula-eccentric combinations. indicate that there is only source potential activity an (presumably cell) response may independent response. suggestion advanced "trigger"
